Throughout the year, these young leaders undertook a total of 18 group projects, leaving a lasting impact on various facets of the Johns Creek community. From collaborative efforts with local organization to innovative initiatives within schools, the class of 2025 showcased their commitment to making a difference in their community.
One such collaboration was between several of the groups and Professor Katherine Perrotta from Mercer University. Together, they engaged in rigorous primary and secondary research and developed innovative lesson plans that aligned with Georgia Standards, which each group then presented in teaching sessions. Notably, one group from Northview High School and Providence Christian, worked closely with students at Findley Oaks Elementary, focusing on the importance of glass recycling. Their dedication extended beyond one session as they returned on Earth Day to conduct a second lesson, empowering the elementary students to create posters advocating for recycling.
Additionally, the Student Leadership Johns Creek class of 2025 demonstrated a sense of civic responsibility by partnering with organizations such as the Johns Creek Veterans Association, One Johns Creek, Champions Place, and Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. Through these collaborations, they contributed to the betterment of the community while also working to improve their leadership skills.
“We are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication exhibited by the students of the class of 2025,” said Irene Sanders, Executive Director of Student Leadership Johns Creek. “Their passion for service and commitment to effect positive change is truly inspiring.”
