October 21, 2021 - Government Day
Government Day with the class of 2022 was great! We got a little bit of a late start and our bus driver got a little lost, but whew, we made it downtown and visited the Fulton County Government Center where Commissioner Liz Hausmann spoke to the students about all that Fulton County does for the citizens of Johns Creek. In addition, she gave all the students copies of a Proclamation issues for them. The students then toured the Emergency Management Facility where they learned all about how Fulton County manages emergency situations. Next we headed to the Capitol and spoke with Representative Mary Robichaux, Representative Angelika Kausche, Mr.Roger Wise and Colonel Mike Roberts with the Warrior2Citizens Association. After a tour of the Capitol and a photo shoot at Liberty Plaza we walked to the Superior Court House where we met with Superior Court Judge Rachelle Carnesale, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her team, including Lauren McAuley and Maria Hunter; Senior Public Defender Marilyn Primovic and Solicitor General Staff Corey Dunlap and Terrance Evans. It was a great day for our students!
